How can I explain it?

It’s like the printer that won’t print anything, even black & white, when it’s out of cyan. It makes no sense and yet there it is.

I’m out of cyan.

My world should be deprived of colour or really, really off, and it is, but black and white should still work. I should still be able to produce a shallow shadow of presence and yet, I can’t. There’s an internal error that is preventing a functional existence. I have tried turning it off and on again. I have pulled out the cyan ink and given it a good shake. I have tried updating the firmware. I have updated the drivers. I have given it a hug, and I’ve cursed at it.

It will not print.
